Miley Cyrus is an American singer and actress who was born in November 23. She was famous for her performance in TV series Hannah Montana and now a superstar with her signature voice.

Cyrus is the daughter of a 1990s country singer, Billy Ray Cyrus. Her parents changed her nickname to ‘Miley’ from the word smiley because she smiled a lot as a baby. She had her first role in her dad’s TV series Doc when she was 9-years-old. Cyrus also participated as an actress in Big Fish in 2003.

The 11-year-old Miley Cyrus auditioned for Disney’s Channel series Hannah Montana. The series, which released the following year, was become a greatest sensation with high ratings. “Hannah Montana”, a soundtrack album then released in 2006 with great sales. The rising star Miley Cyrus then continued to perform as Hannah Montana and sing the soundtrack until the last episode in 2011.

After the Hannah Montana series ended, Cyrus kept showing her singing talent by releasing albums and still got strong enthusiasm from public. The EP “Time of Our Lives” that launched in 2009 featured two hit songs “Party in the U.S.A.” and “When I Look at You”, sold more than 5.38 million copies. The success followed with the release of “Can’t Be Tamed” (2013).

Miley Cyrus struggled with her body image. She told to Marie Claire that she used to have an image of a glamorous pop star from Hannah Montana and got the pressure of being the role model for young girls while she was still figure out her identity. Cyrus then made a style transformation from Hannah Montana persona to an edgy short-haired girl. She released “Bangerz” (2013), an album that distance herself from her previous image with hip-hop influences and adult-theme lyrics. Her performance in the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) stole the audience attention with her single “We Can’t Stop”. She also appeared nude in her music video for “Wrecking Ball” that later became a controversy. Meanwhile, “Bangerz” still successfully got high sales and the “Wrecking Ball” reached the top of the pop charts and even earned Video of the Year honors at the 2014 VMAs.

In 2015, Cyrus released an album “Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz” that became a departure from her pop roots. “Younger Now” (2017) her follow-up album gained the public attention through the single “Malibu”. She released her seventh studio album, the EP “She Is Coming” in 2019. She also teamed with Lana Del Rey and Ariana Grande for the film “Charlie’s Angels” soundtrack, “Don’t Call Me Angel”. Besides producing music, Miley Cyrus appeared in some movies, such as The Last Song (2010), So Undercover (2012), The Night Before (2015), etc.
